HIMG_3580.jpg - What I have termed the West PP Channel network consists of a networks of above ground ditches or concrete lined channels and below ground pipes collects the raw sewage, waste water and storm water discharge from an area of west Phnom Penh roughly bounded by St 230 (and likely much further) to the north, all remaining portions of south Phnom Penh that don’t flow into the South PP Channel inside the Outer Ring Road to the east and almost all areas of the heavily developed segments “outside” of the Outer Ring Road to the west. Effluent collected in the West PP Channel network is discharged untreated to the Boeng Tompun (Tompun Lake) via the Boeng Tompun Pumping Station on the most southerly Outer-Outer Ring Road on an almost continuous basis, rain or shine. This aerial photo shows the West PP Channel as it flows through west Phnom Penh outside of the Outer Ring Road and prior to reaching the Boeng Tompun Pumping Station.
